Websites & Blogs

There are hundreds,  thousands probably millions of Food Blogs & Food websites out there in cyberspace – (is that a thing?) and it is one of my New Years resolutions to find the best / most interesting / wacky or plain weird. These are a few I follow and take inspiration from – just remember to keep following this one too! I will be adding to this list weekly so have a look from time to time. Any suggestions gratefully appreciated!

My sister’s –  Chose a Manger

The Smitten Kitchen – a brilliant award winning blog based in New York from a tiny kitchen

Food 52 –  as they say: “helping people become better, smarter, happier cooks”

my name is yeh – award winning slightly wacky blog from America

Manger – I’ve only just discovered this one.  Based in the South of France, Mimi (formely lived in Hong Kong, London and Paris) has moved to the Medoc with her Iclandic photographer husband Oddur and their soon to be family of 7 children. She writes this award winning blog, has her own TV show in France and an award winning cookery book (also added to my wish list!)

Seven Spoons as the author says “My name is Tara O’Brady and I live in southern Ontario, Canada. I started this site in May 2005 –  it was intended as my recipe file, to keep track of things as I built a life with my boyfriend.” Through all of this, seven spoons has become about more than recipes; it’s also a story of sorts, a collection of thoughts and family and food.”

Janes Patisserie – a brilliant fresh & bubbly baking blog from a young 22 year old who is obviously passionate about her cakes.

The usual suspects but not all well known this side of the Atlantic

THE go to site in the US – Epicurious

The Best Cakes of 2014 – says it all really!

Oonaghs Kitchen One of the original Great Irish Bakeoff contestants, brilliant website, loads of recipes and a chance to book in for some classes if you live in Ireland.

Dorie Greenspan – my newest favourite cook / baker see post  (this will no doubt change as the year goes on and I discover new people!)

Yotam Ottolenghi – he of “Jerusalem” fame (see post)

Bon Appetit America’s #1 food magazine, also referred to here

And when all else fails – BBC Food
